About

Dr. Sean Taladay is the Executive Director of the Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center, a residential facility dedicated to supporting homeless veterans. With a Doctorate in Leadership and over 15 years of experience in non-profit management, veteran services, mental and behavioral health, polysubstance abuse disorders, and homelessness prevention, he has dedicated his career to advocating and serving those who have served our country. Under his leadership, the shelter has expanded its programs, increased outreach to veterans, and improved housing stability for thousands of homeless veterans. Dr. Taladay is passionate and committed to providing services that promote self-esteem through physical, social, emotional, educational, recreational, occupational, and spiritual programs, which have enabled veterans to return to the community as productive and respected members.
Dr. Taladay serves on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity, Armstrong-Indiana Behavioral and Developmental Health Program, ARC Manor, and Kittanning Rotary Club. As a respected leader in the field of veteran services, he has been involved with the Homeless Advisory Board, Suicide Prevention, and Veterans Treatment Court.
Under his leadership, Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center earned the American Red Cross “The Partnership Award” for significant humanitarian contributions to the local community. The Center has also been recognized as a Diversity Business Top 500 Emerging Businesses in the U.S. Dr. Taladay is an Award recipient of the National Register’s Who’s Who Among Business and Professional Achievers.
As a mathematician, Sean’s vast knowledge of numbers and finance serves the 501 (c) (3) non-profit well, making it possible to optimize and efficiently manage the Center. As a research methodologist and statistician, Dr. Taladay has researched and published articles on topics ranging from veterans' homelessness and servant leadership to transformational leadership and spirituality in the workplace. Equally important is Dr. Taladay’s ability to help others overcome challenges with and through grace.
